Welcome to My Blog – I’m Andy (James Smith)

Hi there! My name is James Smith, but everyone calls me Andy. That’s because all the men in my family are named James, and “Andy” stuck early on to avoid confusion! I’m a retired therapist, now 70 years old, and I’ve spent the last 34 years helping people heal—first part-time, then full-time.

A Little About Me

I’ve been living in Dublin, Ireland, for the past 23 years, and I’ve always been passionate about helping others. That passion started after a life-changing mining accident in 1990, which ended my career in the industry. Forced to find a new path, I discovered therapy, and I was hooked.

But to build my practice, I had to learn how to advertise online. That’s what pulled me into the world of internet marketing, where I’ve been learning and experimenting ever since. Although I’m now officially retired, I still enjoy staying active and, like many of us, I still need to earn a living.

Outside of therapy and online work, I love reading, supporting others, and smashing a few golf balls at the driving range to blow off steam. I’m lucky to live near the coast, and one of my favorite moments of the year is a peaceful Christmas morning walk along the beach.

Why I Started This Blog

I created this blog as a way to keep earning while sharing ideas and tools I believe in—especially for people who are in the same boat I was: retired, living on a modest pension, or raising a young family while struggling to make ends meet. (When I left the mines, there was a cover-up and no compensation—it was a tough time.)

Here, I’ll share ethical ways to earn money online, ideas that actually work, and personal experiences that might help you. Whether you’re looking for tips on getting traffic to your site, want to hear about amazing trainers like John Thornhill (one of the best in my book), or just want to follow along with my journey, I’m really glad you’re here.
